DARING CARD MAKERS 'BEADS'

This weeks challenge over on Daring Card Makers is as follows:

I’m sure that most of us girlies had a bead box when we were little and if you were like me, would spend hours sorting and swapping them with friends. Come to think of it, things haven’t changed that much because I still have a box of beads and I’m hoping that you do too.For my dare this week I would like you to make a card that incorporates beads somewhere in the design…..it’s as easy as that!It can be one bead, lots of beads, big beads, and small beads, whatever you like as long as there’s at least one on your card somewhere.

So here are my creations for this challenge. Ive actually created 2 cards for this. I wont go into detail right now about the cards,as im having terrible connection probs,have been trying to post this for a cpl of days.

My card above was m ade using papers from doodlementals and a 'kini' die cut. (To put me in the mood for when i go on me hols shortly)...although dont think i'l be doing 'kini's' lol

A THANKYOU GIFTIE

Heres a likkle thankyou gift that ive made for a friend,who is going to be doing me a very special favour shortly,so i have made this for her to say thankyou.
A bind it all note book. Box for the book, a bag,made using cricut expression. I thought they matched well with the card i made yesterday so am just gonna add a thankyou sentiment onto that card. Im gonna fill the gift bag with choccies also :) Yummy!
She uses notebooks ect all the time in her job,so hopefully this will be of some use to her.

Daring cardmakers 'Animalia'

What bit of time ive been getting to craft,ive spent most of it cutting out flowers and leaves ect on the cricut,and using the cuttlebug embossing folders on them. So as i can make up flower embellies for me layouts of Chloe.As much as i like fabric flowers ect,i do like to make my own,as its far cheaper...so you can use loads...and you can make them to co-ordinate.
It seems like forever since i ever got chance to join in with the Daring Cardmakers challenge :(
The challenge on Daring Cardmakers this week is as follows:

Hi everyone, it's my turn (Mel) to set the dare this week :)
I've based my dare on the book by Graeme Base called 'Animalia' (just because that book happened to be sitting near my desk when I realised it was my turn for the dare this week).
So, all you have to do is create a card featuring an animal.

So i thought i would have a quick go with some of the flowers and such id been making. The stamp is from a set i found while looking for me stapler other night..lol (forgot i even had this set,ive had it soooo long...and never used it) and iam trying to use some of my things...and all me unused stamps ect,its the only way i can justify buying more stash...lol
Dont ask me why i chose a pig!...Do pigs and flowers even go together???...lol Well it had to have an animal didnt it...and i think it turned into a nice fun card :) Anyone that liked pigs would like it :)


Made a quick extra card while i was at it,this card has just been made with some of the embellies that i put together.

FUNKY FAIRYS CHALLENGE # 21

This weeks Funky Fairys Challenge has been set by Lulu.
The challenge is as follows:
The challenge this week was set by Lou and she has asked us to make a card/layout using no backing papers whatsoever! All backgrounds must either be stamped, inked, painted or chalked (for example) and any topper or embellishment must also be made using a rubber stamped design/image. The sentiment as well should be stamped and not printed from the computer or a rub-off. The only concession to paper/card that will be made, is for matting and layering purposes only.

TOO MUCH STASH!!!

Is there such a thing???
Earlier this evening i had a few hours to play :) Which is a very rare occurance. I had in mind what i wanted to do...however i needed a stapler...bearing in mind i have 4 normal staplers and 1 of those amm ones...with the big patterned staples(which i might add i want mad for...yet when i got it and tried it...i didnt like it)...could i find a 'normal stapler' ???...could i hell...how can 4 staplers vanish into thin air.My craft room was kind of resembling a war zone,where ive been in it a few times and got stuff out everywhere...so there was only one thing i could do...try n tidy it all..lol :( so i tidied...still no stapler :( Soooo i had to drag out all me boxes of packed away stash...empty me drawers ect.So figured i may as well sort some of me stuff out! Why...do we do it...why do we buy so much crap...it was endless piles of it...i found something like over 40 sheets of alphabet stickers..the dome ones and such...why would 1 person need that many is beyond me...i found stuff that id completely forgot that i had.I found things that ive had for years.I found loads of complete crap...not that technically it is crap...but ya know how it is when you first start ect..and you NEED all these things...these things will be sooo great to have...then months...or years down the line when you get more experienced at things...and you yave your 'style' ect,what you like to work with...these much needed things back then,just have no place in your stash anymore...youve moved on.But do we throw them away...get rid??? Nooo we dont...cos maybe..just maybe you might need it...one day it may come in handy...and so it goes on...and on...mountains of unused (unwanted stash) sitting there doing nothing..but we cant get rid. I had stash coming out of everywhere...i never thought it would end...and dare i say...i actually wanted it too...i wanted there to be no more stash to sort through! (And i never even started on the stuff in the garage)By this time id been at it for about 31/2 hours ..and it was almost 11pm and was feeling tired...at last i'd kind of finished.So i started to get a few things together for a rak for one of my sbs7 sisters....was getting out bits of ribbon from a big box that has loads of assorted ribbon in it...and what did i find??? A stapler! was i happy at this??...was i bloody hell...all those hours,wasted...i finally had my stapler...but by then no time left in which to create anything:(
So here iam now having a moan about it before i go to bed...lol

Q1. If a movie was being made of your life who would you like to be cast to play yourself and why?
A1- Well...my life hasnt exactly been a great one ya might so...it's been bad enough going through it once,i certainly wouldn't want to have to re-live it again...so def wouldnt play myself.
I guess i would have to choose Angelina Jolie to play me! Could it be cos we have the same looks and body shape???...i wish...lol I just think she's a very talented ,intelligent woman...who would do me proud :)

You are spending a whole month on a desert island for charity, and you have to choose your favourite celebrity to spend the first two weeks with you and & your least favourite celebrity to spend the second two weeks with, who would they be and why?
A2. This is a hard one for the favourite..hmmm...who do i like???....i cant think of any that i particularly like...lol..so this part will have to stay unanswered for now...
For my least favourite would have to be Victoria Beckham...why..??? Do you even need to ask..
Basically just to annoy her...for her to have to give up her 'posh' lifestyle for a couple of weeks..hehehe!

What are your 3 favourite crafting products?
A3 - I have soooo many favourites....but at the moment i have a thing for felt...buttons and ...sakura gel pens

If you could invent something what do you think it would be?
Q5. If i could invent anything at all...then it would have to be a time machine...so as i could go back in time and atry and alter certain events.

Q5.What are the last 3 books that you read?
A5. Abandoned..(cant remember authour,but this book is a true story and came to light from a woman writing an online blog...the blog is still online)

A7 - I dont really have any...not into celebs. Although when i was at St James's hos with Dan Sir Steve Redgrave paid a visit to the ward...he came over chatting to me and Dan,although Dan was more interested in carrying on playing his xbox 360...so our conversation revolved around computer games ect. When our conversation was over,as he walked off..me and Dan started laughing as he had on a pair of cream chinos which were covered in mud n grass stains all over the ass...lol...Dan found this very amusing.Then he said to me...Who was that?...I said...Dunno...some famous rower i think (And thats only cos i overheard someone talking to him bout rowing)...lol When i spoke to my OH a while later..he couldnt belive that he'd been and that we'd met him...and more to the point that i didnt even know who he was...lol...but it was funny.

A BIT MORE SARAH KAY

So i thought id do something else in Sarah Kay,but something other than a card. So i made this quickish book with the bind it all. (Sorry about the crappy pics,Chloe kept grabbing the book every time i tried to take a phot0) lol

The inside of the book has plain pages with a small sarah kay image in the right hand corner of each page.

The inside of the back cover has a pocket.Inside the pocket there is small sarah kay notelets that i made.

Sarah Kay Card

Here is the first of many 'Sarah Kay' creations! How much do i love Sarah Kay.I remember Sarah Kay from when i was a little girl,and i loved her then! So now i want to create some things for my own daughter in Sarah Kay...some things for her bedroom ect. I seem to have been waiting...like...forever for these stamps to come out....however they are due out next month :))
Iam however going on holiday next month :) So it will just be my luck that they will come on sale while im away,and when i get home they will all be out of stock :( So im taking no chances..lol
I already have some pre-ordered from the states...ive even oredered a spare,which i hope to use as blog candy at some point :) So hopefully when i return off me hols i wil lhave some luvly jubly sarah kay stamps waiting for me:)
This image ive used!!! Quite simply a colouring page...these are readily available for you to download all over the internet...so i just had to ...couldnt resist...lol Plus i wanted to do this as i want some quite large images for chloe's room...this way i can have an A4 sized sarah kay for the wall :)
Altogether i have 5 different sarah kay images... 1 of which isnt due to be released as a stamp...at least not yet anyways.The colouring pages you download are ok-ish...however they do tend to be a bit grainy...especially in the places that should be white :( ....but with a likkle tweaking from me...lol ,i now have them looking quite fabby :)
If anyone would like the cleaned up files that i have then please email me and i shall give them to you. Or you could always go and download your own!...or maybe you are just gonna wait...lol

Unfortunately im a bit pushed for time right now,but did want to join in,so ive had to settle for a cpl of simple quick cards am afraid!
However if i do get some 'more' time this week...i shall do something else!...lol

ARTY GIRLZ CHALLENGE '3D'

This is another of the stamps that was included in the blog candy that i won from Tina.
So i thought i would use it to make this card for the Arty Girlz Challenge
This weeks challenge at Arty Girlz is 3D.
Although you may not be able to see from the pic this card really is 3d.
It has a frame around the outside,and then the stars and stamped image are built up even further.

WELL CHUFFED

Hehehe! Iam well chuffed...cos the 'You colur my world' LO that i did of me and Chloe has been featured on Inspirational Blog. Am well happy about that as i really love that LO...plus it was these photos(although i do still have more to finish) that inspired the creation of the 'doodlementals' kit. Without these photos maybe the 'doodlementals' wouldnt even exist!
So am happy about it...:)) Can you tell...lol

A COUPLE OF CARDS

Just 3 cards i made
Bella stamp..one of me 'unused' ones lol...so i thought id fetch her out to play.
Although you cant see in the pic..the embossed background card has been painted in pink pearlised acrylic paint...it really does shimmer...and the bubbles in the bath have been completely covered in glamour dust...this card sure does sparkle!

I won this beatuful stamp as part of a Blog candy prize of Tina,a couple of months ago. Upto now i havent had chance to use it. So thought i would try it out!
Papers are from one of Kay Millers downloads. Ribbon from stash .I put wet glue on the ribbon..lol it was still wet in pic...ya cant actually see it now..lol

Of course...another Bella!...Is this one Mwah Bella?..lol I so do forget all their names (I do have loads ya know) Although i always remember 'Snowbunny bella' Paper used from 'Funky Flowers' Collection...green bazzill cs...ribbon from stash.

SUNNY DAYS

So..so far its been a lovely weekend...bright n sunny! I have done no crafting :( as Chloe has been taking all my attention.All day yesterday we went into town..then yesterday early evening we went to a large park.This was Chloe's first visit...and she loved the freedom of being to run around in a large space...although she did keep marching off in a huff...lol

This morning the sun was shining bright and early.So i got out a tiny pool i bought for chloe yesterday :) How dinky is that pool...lol So this morning was Chloes first paddling pool dip...which she has loved....she was in it for ages.And not forgetting she had her first ever ice lolly...lol
Trying to get her in the holiday mood...lol ready for when we go away in just under 4 weeks :))
