2 sketches for you

Here are my cards for this weeks 2 sketches 4 you challenge
I ended up doing 2 cards for this,as i wasn't 'happy' with the 1st that i did 'the green one'
Its been a bit 'hectic' here this week,we go on holiday tomorrow(so wont be around to join in 2s4u next week)..I think i've kinda done the pics too small...lol Oh well they will have to do now..haha

A CARD AND 'SOMETHING' NEW

Boutique hairbows????...have ya heard of em???
I've looked in awe for years at these things...thinking how gorgeous they look...and how gorgeous they would look in likkle Chloe's hair *that's if she had enough hair to put them in* lol
You can get these in all stles ,colours...diff ribbons...character ones...made to match with outfits ect.They cost about £5 a pair here n then there's p& p.Anyways i ordered Chloe a strawberry shortcake outfit from someone who also makes these things,and i asked her to make 2 little corkers to match the outfit *doubt they will go in her hair* corkers are different to these as corkers are just a bunch of spiral ribboms.
Sooooo...anyways...i paid like over £4 for these 'corkers'...and i was sat there thinking what fabby ribbons i had...how much i had...lol and thinking that *one day* Chloe WILL have hair...lol How FAB would it be for when she HAS hair for her to have the boutique bows to match her outfits...lol However it would cost a fortune :(
So...i went a lookin on the net *as ya do* and i found me some instructions.....and....the pic above is my very FIRST attempt! Iam soooo well chuffed! It's not exactly *perfect* as the lilac loops don't look exactly the same size...but to say its my first attempt...i think i did quite a good job :) even if i do say so myself...lol So i just need to get loads of practice in now...and hopefully by the time Chloe has 'Lots' of hair i shall be able to bang out bows in every colour ,style blah blah...hhehe...so in the last cpl of weeks i've learnt how to make biscuits...lol and now hair bows :)

I made a card with a couple of the papers from the new Cherish collection...these papers are just beautiful,they really are.Well...they are if you are 'into' this kind of thing...which iam...lol

The papers that i have used here are 'Cherish Pink scratchy' and 'Cherish green floral'

FUNKY FAIRYS CHALLENGE #37

This weeks challenge over on the CHALLENGE BLOG is based on a sketch
This card is my take on the skecth...I've kinda 'moved' the sketch about...lol
I've used 2 papers from the new 'lets get traditional' kit. And i just gotta say that these are what i call 'beautiful' papers....not funky ones...lol
I'm so 'into' this kinda style at the mo,so i had to design papers to go with the style.:)
I have a feeling you will be seeing a lot more of my creations made with this kit...and also the gorgeous papers from the 'cherish' collection.A hell of a lot of time and energy went into creating these papers...but i must say that iam really pleased with the results ,as i have them...just how i wanted them.

2 sketches 4 you & other things

This may turn into a long post...lol

Firstly i would like to say a HUGE THANKYOU to the very talented TERRIE for giving me this fabby award! Thankyou sooo much Terrie,it really,really does mean a lot x

So for passing this award along....I award this to everyone who stops by my blog..who leave me really nice comments.Fo those of you who send me the lovely emails regarding Dan x
This whole..designing,crafting,blogging thing is what keeps me sane...its what keeps me going...it whats kept me going since Dan died x It all keeps me going through even the darkest of days*which there are plenty* no day is ever a 'good' day anymore...however...its ppl like Terrie,like all of you who take the time to leave just simple comments...say thankyou ect....who make some days more 'bearable',and for this i thank you all from the bottom of my heart x So this award is to all those who help me to feel better...and all those of you who go out of your way to make other people feel better too. x

Yesterday was Shane's birthday,he was 12...and then today ive been at playgroup with chloe *yes i left the house today* then afterwards ,after school i went to another town to watch shane play rugby in his first ever 'proper' match! Shane's quite big for his sge...so he was the one that always had to get the ball...i lost count of the times he got 'piled one' lol (How...as mothers can we sit there and watch) the mind certainly boggles..lol

OOh and b4 i forget...how nice does THIS look on me blog:) I always wanted one of these on here. *You will have to scrolll down the post,and you will see what am talking about* :)

I've at last found me cable..*dont ask* lol so now ive been able to take some piccies.

ANYONE FOR BISCUITS???

Well since last week almost every other day we have been baking biscuits...lol
Believe it or not i have never made biscuits in my life..lol I do cakes n pies n such,but i've never tried biscuits.(Thought that at 35 it's about time i tried to do some) lol
The recipe i used *incase anyone wants it* is as follows
250g softened butter (or marg)
140g caster sugar
1 egg yolk
2tsp vannilla essence (optional)
300g plain flour.
Thats the basic recipe
If you want chocolate biscuits substitute 50g flour for 50g of coco or cadburys drinking chocolate (thats what i used) lol
I also did loads with choc chips added and a load with half of each biscuit covered in melted chocolate.
For anyone that doesn't know how to mix the above ect.
You do it this way...make sure you do it by hand.
Mix together the butter and sugar first
then add in the egg yolk and vanilla (only slightly beat together,just enough to mix together)
Then add in your flour , add choc powder in now too if doing choc versions.
Then mix all together,it only takes a cpl of minutes.
When mixed together its quite'squishy' lol just spoon onto a baking tray lined with greaseproof paper.Make sure you leave loads of room between each one,they do spread out,if they all end up joining together,no worries,when they done,while still warm and soft just seperate them.
When spooning them onto the tray. If you spoon a 'dollop' and leave it like that you get the result
like the plain ones(top pic) so quite a thick biscuit. If after you 'dollop' you try and flatten down quite a bit,i just use me hand,you then get a result like the second pic,a thinner more crunchier biscuit.
When you've mixed n dolloped you are done!
Place them into a pre-heated oven at gas mark 4 (My oven is tempremental and i have to turn mine to gas mark 6) Your biscuits will be done in 12-15 minutes. When they are first done they feel very soft,this is right...they harden up when cooled down...they do taste nice when just done though...lol
Another way of doing them after you have done your mix is to place your mix onto clingfilm and wrap up and roll into a sausage shape.Then place it into your freezer for half an hour.When you take it out,unwrap,and then slice your 'sausage' and place the slices onto the tray.
Thats about it...lol
They nice with jam on too...although the ones i've done with jam on come out looking like a disaster,but taste gorgeous *I need to perfect this* haha
This recipe is so easy and so quick that ive had Shane and Chloe involved ,Chloe just seems to like eating the left overs,and when she was putting them on the tray,and i was saying 'press it down' it was more of a smear the mixture all over the baking tray...lol But she's getting the hang of it...lol Not bad to say she's only almost 21 months.

Think iam gonna have to be imaginative with this recipe when making stuff for christmas!

I can feel green and red biscuits coming on,spinkled with icing sugar...lol

FUNKY FAIRYS CHALLENGE # 36

This week over at Funky fairys Challenge blog is a bit different to usual.
We thought for a change we would go with Halloween!! I know that here in the uk ppl don't 'DO' halloween like they do in the states n such *shame* so ppl may not have many *halloween themed* papers and such, so for this challenge i designed a small downloadable kit for the challenge.So the challenge is 'Halloween' and for you to use items from the free halloween kit!
I HAVE made 2 cards for this, and i need to get the pics uploaded *have misplaced me cable* so i shall upload them when i find it.

ON WORLD CARDMAKING DAY

On saturday which was world cardmaking day. Laura & Kazan did an extra sketch each to celebrate the occasion.They had teamed up with Scrapbook news and reviews for this
I'd never heard of this site.Its aan online magazine...but its also a forum ect.So i popped over and had a looksie *as ya do* lol
So i got quite engrossed in it,as they had loads of wcmd challenges goining on...soooooooo i just had to join in didnt i! haha!
Below are some of the cards i did for some of the challenges...i never got chance to do ALL the challenges :(
Anyways today,i have also subscribed to this online magazine :) Upto now i've only glanced at parts of it,and have already learned sumats i DIDN'T know!...lol
The mag is very very imformative...more so than a paper magazine...there are LOADS of stuff in it so why dont you go have a looksie

2 sketches for you

Here is my take on Kazans sketch 10 over at 2 sketches 4 you
I'd completely forgot that i hadnt taken photos of it and blogged it,so ive just had to do it now.
Not very good pics am afraid as i dont have much light in the kitchen where iam right now..lol
Its turned so cold here now that i've had to fetch a selected few craft bits n pieces into the house now,as my craft room is at the bottom of the garden,and it really feels like the north pole in there now :( So i guess i wont be doing any crafting in there for quite a while:( Was just starting to get into the swing of using me cricut for my creations too :(
I only have a really small kitchen with a small table,so i've only been able to fetch a few things indoors,and its a case of un packing and packing away each time i want to do any crafting. I have no room indoors for me cricut either as its the expression. It was so sad when i was packing up stuff to fetch indoors...it was like leaving home :(
