...What have i been upto...lol All the family came down with a nasty bug (i however think that OH gave us all food poisoning after he cooked us some sausages)...he on the other hand insists that it was a bug....hmmmm!
I've also been playing more with fabric:) I have made the Chloe monster another one of those tops and 2 halterneck all in one jump suit things :) Am really pleased with what i have made so far! Will have to take some piccies of the new things, so as you can see the all in one's.
....Last week over at the Shabby tea room challenge my card made the Top 3 cups of tea :) ...am chuffed bout that :) Thanks all at the shabby tea room challenge :)
...I do love this challenge blog, and at the mo i don't really get chance to take part in many challenges so this is the one for me before any others...lol
I've been so busy with fabric that i just haven't really had any interest in paper!!!
This weeks challenge over at the shabby tea room is Stars & stripes or red,white & blue This one had me baffled...lol I guess if iwas american then it would be easy...you could easily do both together :) ...but sadly iam british...and yes the british flag is also red ,white & blue...so i guess i could have gone all patriotic and come up with something based on that...hmmmm ...Aint never gonna happen on this blog...i surely won't be 'flying the flag' for what was once 'Great' Britian...it may be Britain ...but it most certainly aint great...but anyways that's enough bout that...i better not even start on the subject else i won't shut up....lol
.....So what did i create for this weeks challenge??
...I wimped out at the paper side of things cos i just could't think of anything and created this...

....Well it's certainly red ,white...and a splash of blue...lol

...But then looking at all me paper ect...plus some new stash that i got...lol ...i kinda felt guily...so i decided that i HAD to make something with paper...so i kind of challenged myself to make as many paper items as i could using a particular blue spotty paper..no image stamps chipboard ,die cuts etc allowed..only punches and sentiment stamps!

So...1st off i came up with this...

...I still had some of the paper left...it was a 12x12 pice that i started with....so i slightly altered a bingo board for me to put challenges ect that i need to do..

...and i still have a small piece of the paper left too :) ...so i guess something else will have to be made...lol

....edited to add.....OOhps forgot to add in the digi LO i did too...

...So onto the giveaway...

Something a bit different

...Something a little different for the Sir Stampalot Challenge who want Blossoms & butterflies and the Shabby tea room challenge who want polka dots or tea party

..I think that i've said a few times before that i'm 'Fed up' with making cards :( They just serve no purpose for me...and just end up filling lots of boxes :(  So I'm trying to create 'things' as apposed to cards. 'Things' that i can just display...keep forever...and so on...

This 1st project...Nothing i have ever created has taken as long as this to do...lol...I decided to alter a book :)

This really is an actual 'crappy might i add...lol' book! Why did it take so long???

...What took so long was getting all the pages stuck together and sealed! I actually started doing this a couple of weeks ago...lol ..getting the pages together. I've used sooo much mod podge (and Ooh that stuff stinks...lol)

...So then i had to cut out a section of the pages...which then lifted all the pages in places...so more mod podge was needed....then i decided to paint one side cream...so i did, then i mod podged over that...then i didn't want it cream...i wanted it pink, so painted it pink..when that was dry, i mod podged over that. Then....i decided that i didn't want it pink after all...i wanted it covering with paper...lol So once i had the paper stuck down, i mod podged over that to seal it all...left it to dry...once it was dry only then could i actually make a start...lol

I had NO idea what i was gonna be doing with this when i started, and the fact that i created something different ..something that was created just for creating sake it felt really good to do :) I really ,really enjoyed making it. I know it prob won't be a lot of peeps cup of tea....not even sure if it's mine...but i really enjoyed making it and that's what it's all about isn't it! :)

Ya know ...I've had this butterfly /fairy stamp for yonk..maybe 1-2 years now and i have never used it on any creation!!...(That's bad isn't it...lol) I think i need some more of these collage - ie - wotsit stamps...hmmm and maybe some alcohol ink to mess about with :) I applied sepia glossy accents over the wording, and coloured her wings with sakura pens,

The butterflies are a mixture of martha stewart ounch and K & co

...and i got to use me other holtzy die :)..(That's the fastner type thingies :) ...I've alos found something else that i just LOVE....grunge board :) (Yeah...i know..I'm a bit behind the times with that one)...but i have never bought any as i found it to be a bit pricey...didn't see the point...blah blah...but when me sis came down she gave me a couple of sheets of the board and the paper :) It's been sat in me 'Alterables drawer' ever since. That was until today :) When i decided to use it to cut these out with! Oh my!!..I Loves it :) Just how bendy is that stuff...how fab does it emboss....how great is it for taking the distress inks..haha...I could just go on and on bout it...but i won't...lol

...and that my friends is me altered book.There was lots of pricking, liquid pearls, metal flowers,glass flowers and of course paper flowers. I made the 2 large ones myself. (If you want to know how to make them and haven't yet seen my tutorial on them, you will find it in my side bar)

All in all i'm really pleased how it turned out as IRL it does look pretty, and i had fun creating it (Got covered in distress ink and mod podge quite a bit though...lol)

While i was at it i also created this tray for Sir Stampalots Challege

..I didn't 'actually make the wooden tray... lol! I just altered a blank wooden tray.

I used basic grey rubons all around the sides and inside of the tray (They work fab on wood)

Then i mod podged all of it to seal it.Added a little bling and some K & Co chipboard butterflies and then it was finished. :)

Our Creative Corner Sketch No# 17

..I'm late with me challenge card :(
We went away last weekend...it was lovely...so hot...yet sunday i started feeling 'crappy' and have come home with either the worst cold...or flu.I've been sooo bad the past few days that i've been nowhere, done nothing :( I still feel 'crappy' but far better than what i did.
...So onto me challenge card for this weeks OCC sketch Challenge

At last i got to use one of me new holtzy dies :) 'Love it'  I only bought 2...this one and the one with the kehole...key etc.

I designed the papers myself .The flowers are a marianne wotsit dies...lol The fern is a punch.

Liquid pearls and ribbon stuff from stash...ooh and  k & co sentiment.

A bit of creating....

About time i think :)
I decided to join in with the Shabby Tea room Challenge  and the Sir Stampalot Challenge
Shabby tea room wanted Chipboard  and Sir Stampalot wanted Butterflies and Blossoms
So here is what i made.....

Just a fun card with a little matching pillow box.Thought this would be a great idea for someone who likes bingo!...lol

You could fill the pillow box with either little treats...or a little cash toward their bingo fund :)

I really love creating things in this sort of style.

The chipboard circle frame has been painted with tattered rose crackle paint then i've rubbed a little distress ink into it.The large flower has been spritzed with glimmer mist and also recieved a bit of the glitter treatmenet. I sooo love glitter but don't ever use anymore as when i do...no matter how careful i am...or how many times i hoover.....for days we ALL end up wearing glitter...lol I have no idea how this stuff gets all over...i really don't :)

The bingo card thingy is by K&co but can't remeber which line as i have removed all me die cuts from their packaging and now have them altogether in a large box :)

The crochet trim at the top of the card was handmade by me.

The paper is by Anna Griffin.

I used a sizzix bigz die to make the pillow box.

What i've been creating....

....With material as apposed to paper!
As you know me *journey* with material began a couple of weeks ago, as i wanted to start making some clothes for the Chloe monster for the summer. While i was waiting for the patterns to arrive i altered a pair of dungaress by adding some frills...then the patters arrived.....so i had a go at making one of the tops.
Bearing in mind apart from curtains i've never made anything else...and like curtains are simple aren't they...lol No patterns....just cut a couple of rectangles...stitch up ...job done...lol
So when the patters arrived ...i didn't have a clue...i didn't even know how to cut out the pattern...haha
....so in the end i made a top....

I also took an old pair of her jeans that were too short, cut them down to shorts,and edged them with the same material...so a simple matching set was created.
...I guess for a first attempt it wasn't too bad. The top is very plain and simple...that was the pattern that i bought...as i wanted something that would be easy....however it was a loooong way from what i wanted to achieve...as i wanted to make the 'boutique style' clothes! Theres nothing quite like running before ya can walk is there....hahah
....So instead of making anymore things from the patters that i'd bought, i went in search online for 'boutique' patterns. Well...I found a fantastic site :) You buy the patterns as downloads, then you have to print them...obviously you are printing on A4...so you print the patterns in pieces...then join them together with tape....and then you cut out the pattern. I was a little dubious of this when i first bought the patterns...however i decided to jump in and have a try! Printing and matching the pieces together etc was easy ...and then onto the creating :) As well as the patterns you also get a pdf containing step by step instructions and photo's every step of the way...it was like having someone standing next to me showing me what to do :) lol....So i followed the instructions and some tops were made :) I was so pleased with the results that i went and bought more patterns, including one for boutique bottoms :) So then bottoms were made to co-ordinate with the tops :)

...So that's what i've made this past week n half :)

And believe it or not ...i can make one of those tops in less time that i can make a card :)

I've also made a few bags too..which are all lined inside...and all the seams are hidden...including the straps.

On this one i just decided after i'd finished it too fold the top over...this is the Chloe monsters bag :)

OCC sketch challenge # 14

It's time for another OCC sketch :)
Thanks everyone for your kind words and encouragment regarding the driving test! I don't even feel bad that i didn't pass to be honest...I feel bad about the state that i got myself into....lol I think that i have got so used to driving with my instructor sat at the side of me, cos this week i've been out in our car with OH and i've driven on roads that i would only drive on with me instructor, and i've been quite nervous and me hearts been racing...so i think that's what it is.I think i'm just nervous about driving by myself..i know that on me lessons me instructor does nothing for me...but he's there...bit like a comfort blanket.....lol OH said that there is nothing wrong with me driving so can't understand why i'm nervous. I have booked another test for 9th june...so in the meantime i'm having 1 n half hours a week with me instructor, and also going out a few times a week in our car. I need to get used to driving our car anyways ready for when i DO pass...lol At the moment i hate driving ours...it's a focus estate which is slightly bigger than me instructors, plus it's an older car and doesn't have all the gizmo's and gadgets...haha ...and the gears...hahaha...that's another story ;)
....Enough of me rambling...back to the point of the post...lol
Me OCC sketch challenge card

I drew all  the sketches into me notebook and somehow i missed a bow off of this one :(  *Sorry*

Just pretend that it had a bow...but it fell off....lol

Not sure what's wrong with me just lately but i seem to be completely OFF papercrafting **Shock,horror**

I just seem to have no interest and find it hard to actually get anything done. When i uploaded this card to the occ blog and i saw the other girls creations...i was like...their creations look FAB.....i can't upload mine cos it's just gonna stick out like a sore thumb...lol  But i've hd to upload it so...i guess it is what it is.

I've been colouring images etc but thats as far as things go....i haven't actually been making anything....nothing with paper anyways....think i may just have the material bug :)...but more about that in the next post :)
