DIY Coverplate

Thats what the challenge was this week over at PTI make it monday I really didnt think that i would be able to join in this week as i didnt think that any of the pti dies that i have would be suitable. Then i had an idea of using the button boutique button die and thought that i would have a go with that.

I used the' button boutique button stamps and one of the heart stamps from love lives here set.

I cut the love sentiment on the cricut and then gave it a few coats pf glossy accents. (Was gonna enter it into the pti blog hop, but just didnt get it finished in time)

I actually really like this idea, even just using the button die, as in the little holes you could stamp alsorts of images eg: baby, xmas theme etc.

I was thrilled to have my card from last weeks make it monday featued on their fb page Smile Thanks pti girls Smile

Papertrey blog hop

Its the March 2014 papertrey blog hop and i thought that i would join in Smile

This ia the inspiration photo

Your creation has to include something high gloss or shiny. Eg clear embossing, glossy accents or just really glossy or shiny embellies.

This is what i came up with

All my embossing stuff etc is in the craft room so i cant get to any of it, but i did have in here my glossy accents. So using the button boutique stamp set and die i made some shiny buttons by giving them 2 coats of glossy accents.

I think my black inkpad needs reviving as its not looking too black here. I liked how the black ribbon popped out against the white.

Pretty flowers

Its time for a new challenge over at The shabby tea room

The host this week is Tina and she has chosen the theme ‘bits & bobbles’ and we want you to include flowers, buttons and a print/sentiment.

Our sponser this week is Digital papers by Janet straight away i just knew that i had to use THIS image for this challenge.

I just love this image, with the flowers and the pretty watercolour effect. How simple is it to create a card using this. I just resized the image to suit, printed it off . Then i cut the image out just around the outside and then stamped a sentiment inside and then stuck it down to my cb. Added  a little bow and button and job done Smile

You could use this image for all different occasions to. I printed a load off so as i have them to hand , so next time it would be even quicker to create.

Love me little wooden button with its pretty flowers, and of course gingham ‘love gingham’

Please stop by The Shabby tea room and take a looksie at what the other girlies have created for your inspiration, then come and join in the tea party with your own creation with a chance of winning some images by digital papers by janet

The theme over at the city crafter this week is spring in the garden. This card screams out spring in the garden to me (although not in my garden cos of my dog haha)

A little bit of case’ing’

I have created a card based on the inspiration over at case study challenge and the sketch over at case this sketch challenge

As simple as the card is, i love the way that it has turned out. I like the simplicity of it. Pink green and white used to be my favourite colours to craft with, i think iam loving those colours together again now.

Am having a hard time getting any decent photos today, not sure why. I flick between the laptop and the ipad and the colours are so different, so what seems to look ok on one doesn’t on the other.

Playing with papertrey

I decided to join in with this weeks make it monday I just simply adore all of the papertrey products and i truly am gutted that im in the uk lol if i wasnt then i would buy every pti release . By the time i pay shipping and then customs plus the extra parcel force charge on top of that, the cost of all that ends up costing me more that what my order was, so because of that i dont get to shop with pti much Sad smile its a shame too cos i love all the products and could quite happily just craft with pti products. i think maybe im due to place a new pti order as its been a while hehe Winking smile

So this weeks make it monday was about using 3d paint on your projects. I only have acrylic paint here so i went with that. i wanted to create quite a simple card as this is for a sympathy card so i didnt want it to be too fussy.

I used the acrylic paint on an embossing folder.

I love the finished affect of the paint, as some parts have paint and some don’t. I guess you will always get a different end result. I love using acrylic paint on my projects but this is the first time that i have used it in this way.

A little bird all sparkled up with glitter and diamond dust.

Thanks for the challenge.

Somewhere over the rainbow

I had a look at the challenge over at the city crafter and i just knew that i had to play along using my new found inspiration from case study challenge . I have a stamp set by hero arts called kid quotes that i bought a few years ago, i just knew i would get to use it one day. those stamps just seemed perfect for this challenge. I just had to create my own rainbows using distress inks (so loving doing these backgrounds, am like a kid with a new toy haha) I ended up creating 3 fun cards

Just how super cute is that quote ‘You make me smile all over my face’ Love it!

There are a couple other cute quotes in the set too.
As the theme over at the shabby tea room is anything goes this week, then i shall enter it there too. I know there not quite the shabby style, but just fun cards to make you smile Smile

learning something new

Well…thanks to the challenge going on over at the case study challenge blog i have learnt something new! and i love it Smile so thankyou case study girls Smile
This was this weeks inspiration
I sooo needed to do something for this. However my inky spray thingys are all in the craft room, which i still cant get into until i have a new door, so for now i have to make do with the supplies i managed to fetch into my conservatory. so first off i pondered on what to go and decided to go with the colours and the ‘love’ theme. I die cut a heart out of the cb , inked up an embossing folder and ran it through the cuttlebug. I stamped onto acetate, attached to card and added a bow, job done.

i just wasnt happy with this, i wanted me inks lol. Bearing in mind i have ink pads in here, it suddenly dawned on me to use my ink pads and sponge my own background. Why have i never tried this before??? so this is my very first attempt at sponging my own background, using su tempting turquoise, coastal cabana and pistachio pudding. I love the effect and really love these colours together.

Now iam happy with the way that this one turned out. I will definately be doing more of these backgrounds thats for sure.

The Shabby tea room #210

Well this is my first post as a ‘Shabby girl’ Smile*YAY*
This week the theme over at The shabby tea room is ‘Anything goes’ An easy peasy one right.
The sponser for this weeks challenge is Bugaboo stamps. I have use Beach baby 2 on my creation today.

I have created this card for the little Chloe monster. We are going on a family holiday in June to Alcudia (She hasnt been on a plane since she was a baby) so i have created this card for her to give her nearer the time. I just need to add on an ‘Alcudia’ sentiment which i’l be placing top left, and then happy holidays along the bottom, and i’ll also be including some spending money inside the card for her.

i added glitter to her kini Smile and a little glossy accents to her sunglasses. This is such a cute stamp for summer birthdays or invites to a pool party.
Why not pop over to the shabby tea room and see what the other shabby girls have created to inspire you this week.
