back to school time....

Not quite for my little one, just yet....but that's what the theme of the challenge is over at Simon says stamp http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/
I was thrilled on Saturday when my first ever monthly card kit arrived from Simon says stamp . It arrived super duper quick, less than a week all the way from the states, so BIG thumbs up from me for that. It was perfect to use for this weeks challenge too. It was so much better to just pull out the kit and start to create with just that instead of pulling out loads of stash from here there and everywhere!
Here is what I created for the challenge using just items from the kit (apart from the white cs)

Thought I would create this for the little chloe monster for when she goes back to school, she's gonna be in year 3 already! How time flies.

I loved the dinky tim holtz ink pad in the kit. So love the wording on those books 'I like big books & I cannot lie' haha so reminds me of shrek :)
These are the first Simon says stamp stamps that I have ever purchased and I must say that I really like the quality, they stamp fab, will def buy more. So glad that I've subscribed to the monthly kit now. I prob would never have purchased this stamp set had it not been in the kit, but I really like it and it could be used for alsorts of things.

pretty packaging

That's what I've been upto. Thought I would decorating some gift bags. I find that having lots of stuff makes it hard to create cos I just never can decide what to use ha .
This week at papertake weekly http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.co.uk they wanted spots n dots. So I grabbed a couple of scrap pieces of paper to decorate my bags with.

Over at let's craft and create http://letscreatechallenges.blogspot.co.uk they are wanting ribbon or twine or both, I've gone with ribbon on my creations.
Over at stamping sensations  http://sirstampalotchallenge.blogspot.co.uk anything goes

I created my own epoxy type embellies using glossy accents. I created a cute shaker on this bag with some little silver sequins inside.

The oh hello stamp is su.

Hugs & kisses stamp is rachelle miller. The papers are from a really old anna griffin set. I really enjoyed decorating these bags and I think I'm definitely going to be decorating more. How great would they be for christmas. I wouldn't mind doing 24 as a countdown to christmas for the chloe monster with a little gift in each day. These bags are actually just the right size to hold a card too, so you could use these instead of an envelope. I have some smaller glassine bags which maybe better for the Christmas treats :) listen at me talking about christmas when it's only August ha! I love creating at christmas though especially with christmas songs playing ( little to early for the Christmas music yet though hehe)

summer....

That's what my creation today represents (to me anyways)
The theme over at Simon says stamp http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/
This week is summer. Well to me when I think about summer I think about these colours. Even when buying summer clothes for the little chloe monster , these seem to be the colours I choose, especially big bold prints in these colours :)
Over at the fusion card challenge http://www.fusioncardchallenge.blogspot.co.uk

The challenge is only these colours :) or the sketch ( or both) but today I've just gone with the colours.
I still have no laptop, apart from 2 broken ones :( however I have just realised that my iphone takes far better pics of my cards than the ipad does, so think il be ok with the pics for a while now :)
Here is my summer creation.

I've had this jar of buttons and straws on my desk since the beginning of summer to try and get myself in the summer mood ha!

The card was quite simple to make. I used a few die cuts from K & co berry sweet collection.
I bought tons of that collection a few years ago and it's all still sitting there in a large 12x 12 tin. Iam determined to start using some of my stashed stash ha! I really have to start using it else I just can't justify buying more. Speaking of which I have just subscribed to the Simon says stamp monthly card  kit, I've never bothered with card kits before, but I decided that it would be good to have something nice drop through my door once a month, plus I may get to try products that I wouldn't normally choose, so quite looking forward to playing with those :)

happily ever after ...

I've had enough time today to be able to join in with this weeks pti min http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/page/2/
I love this idea of using dies and stamps on the border.
Here's what I created this week.

I used a sentiment stamp and the small butterfly from the love lives here set. The large butterfly is from sig series, butterfly. The butterfly's were stamped in sweet blush ink.
I used some patterned tape along the edges of the card, ribbon , felt hand cut leaf and resin flower.
