simply cards and

...happy packages :)

I created a few things for this weeks less is more challenge http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.co.uk
Last week i entered the challenge that was one layer, my bad as i guess 'technically' my card wasnt one layer. I created some card blanks a few weeks ago out of card that wasnt as thick as i normally use, so i attatched a stitched rectangle panel to each card base so as it made ot sturdier, plus it was card that i could directly colour an image etc on. It was one of these card bases i used for the challenge so technically not one layer.
..Anyhow onto this weeks challenge which is wings. Ive created a couple of simple cards using the same items on each, one with the punched out circle the other using the negative punched piece.

Ive used some martha stewart punched butterflies for my wings theme and the sentiment is from papertrey.
This week the challenge over at simon says stamp http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/ is anything goes so im also entering these into that too.

I decided to create a couple of 'happy packages' to go with the cards. I remember a few years ago when everyone was doing the pif ( pay it foreward ) well i decided to do something a bit like that and create a couple of little packages to make someone smile, just a little happy mail. Nothing fancy ir expensive, just a few crafty bits together in a little package. Its better to recieve something like this in the mail than just bills haha :)
I will select 2 random people out of the comments that are left to  send the happy packages too :) if you would like to be included for the packages, in your comment just add 'make me happy'

 Thanks for looking :)

a little bit of colouring

At long last my door is fixed on my craft room so i can now use it again :) so ive spent the last few days moving things back from the conservatory to the craft room. It seems really strange in there, so quiet ha.
I cant even remember when i last coloured an image, i know it must be well over a year ago. Ive kind of gone more towards just coloured stamping so have been buying stamps like that rather than characters etc. when i was sorting out the craft room i came across some stamps (or should I say loads and loads) i thought i would sit for a while and stamp and colour an image. I decided to join in with the challenge over at less is more http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.co.uk its been a while since i joined in with their challenge.
Heres the stamp that i chose.

The stamp was just a loose one so im not sure what stamp company it is from. The hearts werent on the stamp, i added them in extra. I dont think i have ever used this stamp before, that doesnt suprise me though as i have loads of stamps that have never been used. We seem to buy the stamps as we really need them, then more stamps that we need come out before we have had chance to use the previous ones and then it just goes on and on. Iam however getting to the stage where i just think enough is enough, i know i have more than enough stamps and things to create with, i think you just end up buying for buyings sake haha. Im trying to be good and buying only what i need haha or should i say what i know i will use. I tend to stick to certain companies now too so that limits my spending too.

So back to the card, i coloured him with copics and prisma pencils. My colouring is a little rusty. I like creations now with lots of white space, so i think i shall be joining in with less is more every week.

a little bit blue

The challenge over at pti http://nicholeheady.typepad.com is to create something with a blue ombre. The theme is to co-ordinate with the blue skies collection that they are showing. Am loving the blue skies and think that they may just fall into my basket on the 15th ;)
As it was blue ombre i thought i would create something more plain an masculine, so heres what i did.

I used inks to sponge my background. I cut out the star using the small star die from the star shaker shapes dies. Sentiments are from the sparkle and shine set and matching sparkle word die ( i love that sparkle die)
When all the new goodies are on sale on the 15th i think we will be spoilt for choice, i have lots of things already on my list including one of the grab bags, i love suprises so need to get me one of those for sure.

shiny shiny!

Im here with another card for another papertrey challenge http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/
The challenge is to create a card using only metalics and nuetrals. All my metalic card etc is in the craft room which i cant get into :( but i figured the little chloe monster would have some amongst her craft stash and she did :) .
I created this card as an anniversary card for some friends who we are going away with to celebrate their 10th anniversary.

I ran the silver card through the cuttlebug using an embossing folder, then i cut it into strips.

I used the die and a couple of sentiments from the sparkle and shine stamp set (i really do love this set) i even had some wired metallic ribbon that id bought to use for decoration at chloe's birthday party. I softened the card a little by placing some vellum under the sentiments and die. I created an insert from some silvery paper.

not seen ink

Thats what challenge you have to do for pti http://nicholeheady.typepad.com today. Either use a stamp set that hasnt yet seen ink or one that has been hardly used. I have used the stamp-a-faire 1940's set which i love but have only had the chance to use once before.

I used the stamps to create the background on the card and then heat embossed the sentiment onto vellum.

The embossing powder is white with glitter so it does sparklehowever it doesnt show in the pic.

For this challenge you have to build a bouquet using different stamp sets. Heres what i created

Im still using that same colour combo at the moment. The stamp sets i used were sending you and songbirds.

papertreys 8 th anniversary

I have loved papertrey products from the very beginning, and i know that if they were a uk company i would own every product that they create hehe, but as it is i can only order small amounts now and again due to the whole customs thing 😞
http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/
The first anniversary challenge is to create a card inspired by one if maile belles creations.
I chose this creation for my inspiration

This card just seemed to stand out to me, i love the colour against the white.
Below is my take on maile's creation

Ive taken the colours and the angled front that maile does on a lot of her creations.

all things bright and beautiful

...that is the theme for this weeks challenge over at ssswednesday challengehttp://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/

I decided to have a play with colour combos and made quite a few creations using this combo

Sss are also showcasing hero arts stamps so i thought it would be rude not to use one :)

I created a card and matching gift tag. The sentiment is hero arts and the doily type stamps are mme(one of my fave sets)
I couldnt resist creating this quick tag also

The stamps on this tag are all hero arts

long time no blog

Its been a while once again since i blogged :( time just seems to have passed me by. I have still been crafting just not a lot with paper. I created stacks n stacks of hairbows before christmas Aswell as packs of reindeer food etc. Also my letter to santa kits.

On christmas eve my little chloe monster had all her hair chopped off 😞 (i sooo loved her long hair) she wanted to donate it to the lttle princess trust so i let her have it done.

One excited little girl on christmas eve

Santa came!

Forward a cpl of weeks and it was her 8th birthday (where has the time gone)
She decided on a frozen themed party/ disco at home . She didnt have a frozem themed dress so i decided to make her one and i just love the way that it turned out 😀

It was very very pouffe
Shed been dancing around and on the floor etc when i took this so the dresss is a bit scrunched up on this pic.

We had a little frozen themed type candy bar

I made all the large paper pom poms

The living room was transformed into a disco 😀

The who should arrive, Elsa herself 😄 the girls were so suprised

Next year maybe chloe will be 'too big' for all this so it wasnice to be able to do a girly princess party before she grows out of it.

So thats what ive been doing while ive been away.
