seeing stars

This week over at pri make it monday http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/
The challenge is 'ombre stamping'
I dont have the ombre builder stamp set that laura used in the video so i just used what i had.
My sons birthday is on boxing day so i decided to create a cpl of birthday cards for him.

I absolutely love the sparkle and shine stamp set and seem to be using it all the time at the minute :) however upto now ive only used it for christmas items ( i bought the holiday additions)
So this is my first birthday creation with it. I never create male cards either. I cut the sparkle die cut from white card and then heat embossed it with some sparkling embossing powder, it really does sparkle too (even boys should have a bit of sparkle too, especially at christmas time..hehe)

Heres a more plain male card, without the sparkle . Im entering these cards into the sss wednesday challenge too http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/as they want to see stars and i have plenty of those going on today :)

A few years ago i used to draw borders around my cards most of the time, yet i havent done it for quite a while although i think i may be starting again as my sister bought me this fab set of coloured fine liners for christmas (yes i have them now :) so i may have to start 'bordering again' and now i can even do it in colour.

I bought the 1940's stampafaire kit as I couldnt resist (as you do) i created a card with that too,

I thought it would be fun to use the stamps on a christmas card, along with the sparkle and stars die cuts and the christmas verse from the songbirds stamp set and die (i adore this for christmas cards)
The star pops off the card too so as it can be used for a decoration :) winter wonderland http://christmasblogchallenge.blogspot.co.uk are wanting decorations for there challenge, so heres my decoration attatched to the front of my card.

I also triecout the dies from the 1940's kit on some felt:)

Love them and cant wait to start using them on some projects :)
Have a fab day and thanks for visiting :)

its nearly here

christmas that is haha :)  ive created a card for festive friday http://www.festivefriday.blogspot.co.uk

Im really enjoying creating christmas things, as i never managed toget round to creating any last year. At the moment im not working either so i have a little more time to play too :)
For my card i usedthe 'noel' rubber stamp tapestry set, just using the leaf and flower stamp from it. It is so easy to create a wreath using these stamps. Ive had the set about 6/7 years yet only started using ot this year. Ive started digging out 'old' stash. Ive stuff packed away thats still brand new. We seem to buy things that we love, then a few months later when we have loads more new stuff those 'much loved' items get shoved out of the way while we use our new goodies, and it goes on and on. Well ive started fetching the old back out to use alongside the new :)
So the new items ive used on the card are stamps from pti mim sparle n shine stamp set and die set. I die cut the sentiment from white cs and layeyerd 3 on top of each other to give it some thickness. I then inked it with the same ink used on the wreath.

Boooooo! Hehe!
Well tomorrow is halloween and below is this weeks theme over at fusion

So straight away i was thinking of halloween. We dont really celebrate halloween over here like over in the states, which is a real shame, but i made a halloween themed card anyway.

I managed to create 'fusion' this week hehe. I would also like to enter this creepy card into this weeks sss weds challenge too http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/
Ive had that orange bazzil cs for years, its about time i started to use up someof my older things, ha!
Iam a terrible hoarder when it comes to crafting, i hav paper and card that ive had for 7/8 years and still wont cut cos its too pretty, im the same with some embellies too .

partial die stamping

Thats what the theme is over at this weeks MIM http://nicholeheady.typepad.com
Well a cpl od days ago look what arrived

So i thought i would have a quick play for the challenge.
Heres what i came up with

I'm still loving the sparkle and shine stamp sets and now that i have the dies too even more so. I will just be using these time and time again. I layered the sparkle die on top of another in white and just offset it a touch to create a shadow effect.
I like the simplicity of the card and the same design could be used for birthdays etc, just need to replace 'this christmas'

I threw a quick tag together using the new bookmark die, a cpl of the shaker star dies, stamps from sparkle and shine and button boutique.

something simple

Over at this weeks SSS Wednesday challenge http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/ the theme is watercolour.
I've created something very simple for this challenge, as iam creating a load of tags. So I decided to create a small tag for this challenge using a mini craft cb. I created the background using distress inks and water. The other week I came across a magazine that had a free spell binders stamp set with it, so bought it for the stamp set haha!

This is the first time that I have used it, I stamped the fancy snowflake design on top of the watercoloured background with versamark and then embossed it with wow sparkling snow embossing powder.

I haven't added a sentiment yet as I can't decide if I want one or not, plus it may be for a December birthday and not christmas. It looks really pretty irl.

Edited to add
I stamped the same image stamp onto vellum and embossed it again. Using distress inks onto the back of the vellum.

more christmas

I simply can't help using me new stamps that I got from pti, just love them.i just had to use them for this weeks festive Friday challenge http://www.festivefriday.blogspot.co.uk here is this weeks inspiration pic

The sparkle word, the bulbs and the tiny sparkly stars are my most favourite of the stamps, I just adore them. This card was so quick and simple but I love it. I couldn't just stop at one card though so I decided to play a little more with the stamps.

I bought some of the plain cotton bags from pti with my last order. I have some inexpensive christmas gifts to give and thought that it would be great to create so e lovely packaging for them.
I placed a sheet of card inside the bags before stamping and they stamped perfectly. I have added a little stuffing inside, the gift and a cpl of choccies :) I think I may do some of these for decoration around the house and also as a christmas countdown for the chloe monster :)

I then created another cpl of bags in a cpl of other colours too.

Absolutely loving these stamps and bags ( I have some more bags on the way too )
Sorry for the pic heavy post.

pti MIM

Dry embossing over heat embossing is the them over at this weeks MIM http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/page/2/
I just had to use the sparkle and shine stamp set for this (I just can't put it down)

I created just a simple design. I used a glittered embossing powder as I really did want it to 'sparkle'

I've been creating lots of things with this stamp set, I just really love it. I can't wait for the co- ordinating die to arrive ( and a few others that happened to drop in me basket ) hehe

christmas mode it is

Every time I sit down to create just lately I seem to end up creating something christmas related.
This week over at MIM http://nicholeheady.typepad.com melissa shows us to  paint n stamp onto mason jars. I just couldn't resist, however I have nomad on jars :( I just had a plain old normal jar.
So using some glossy accents I added the word joy and a few lines etc to the jar and left to dry. I thought that by doing that after fk painted and sanded it, it wouldn't look so plain.

I used some sparkly glittered embossing powder . My order from pti arrived as I was creating the jar so decided to use it  on the decoration hanging from the jar.

Earlier today I think I convinced my sister that she needed to have this sparkle and shine stamp set ( and the holiday addition set too) hehe, I really really love it, I've been using it for sooo many things, can't wait to get the co-ordinating die :) I'm seriously thinking about getting the make it market kit to this set, it's just the whole expense of customs and parcel force that puts me off :/
I'd love the new tinsel and tags kit too, those cute little houses (want it....need it haha)
Iam soooo pleased that the shipping is now cheaper at pti, as it means that I can now order a set (or 2) of stamps each month and only pay £10 shipping and it arrives at my door within the week, instead of it being stuck with customs for 3 weeks and having to pay them an extra £30-£40!!
So really pleased that I can now do smaller orders each month even though I always want it all hehe .

it's beginning to look a lot like...

....Christmas!
At least it is in my crafty space this week :)
This week I'm joking in with pti make it Monday http://nicholeheady.typepad.com and SSS Wednesday challenge http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/
The theme over at SSS is anything goes. Over at pti make it Monday Danielle has showed us a technique ' paper casting' I've never even heard of this before so just had to give it a try. I ended up pulling out a pro christmas set to use ' letter to Santa' then that got me in the christmas mood haha .  After paper casting my image and while waiting for it to dry I decided to make a christmas tree hehe

So I decided to create things other than cards.

I decorated a tall container which I'm going to fill with some chocolates.

And I created a tree decoration.

I really liked the finish result of the paper casting, I think I shall be doing some more.

christmas creations have begun :)

I love creating christmas creations and now that the kids are back at school, the colder weather, the darker nights , that can only mean that it's now ok to start the cheistmas creations ha :)
I've been searching for christmas themed challenge blogs to join in with and have found a few :)
Festive Friday http://www.festivefriday.blogspot.co.uk have an inspiration pic

Based on this pic I created this card

The stamps I used are a rubber stamp tapestry set, it's such a lovely set fro creating wreaths. I've had it a good few years yet only used it once or twice.why do we shove all those pretty things to the back of our stash. I only came across it as I was trying to organise some christmas stamps. The holly jolly sentiment is su and the Christmas sentiment , I'm not so sure of, it's either a whiff of joy or an elzybells one. I stamped the wreath and sentiment onto a piece of vellum.

Christmas card challenges http://christmascardchallenges.blogspot.co.uktheme is anything goes.
Abc christmas challenge http://abcchristmaschallenge.blogspot.co.uk want poinsettias

a different look

This weeks SSS Wednesday challenge http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/
Is anything goes.
I've been creating with the SSS September card kit and creating different looks from the same kit.
Here's a couple more cards I made from the kit.

I created the above card using a few bits of paper that are included in the kit, a piece of cs from the kit and one of the sentiment stamps. I really live the way that this turned out. It's given me the idea of what to do with paper scraps now :)

This second card is just simply stamping. All the stamps used are from the kit.

to boldly go

This week over on the SSS Monday challenge blog http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/they want bold, we there it be a image, colour etc.
I've still been playing with my SSS September card kit. I love how you can sit and create things with the same ik and come up with something completely different to what you came up with earlier.
Here is my bold creation using the kit.

I just repeatedly stamped one of the frame images in a bright red ink. I know the frames aren't all exactly level (but that's ok) but you can definitely see the one that's different from the others :)
